After two years spent restoring the interior walls of the church, the aim of this project is to continue renovating the walls of the Saint-Jacques-et-Saint-Philippe church in Buxerolles. The church dates back to the 11th century, but the walls have been plastered with cement, which has led to poor drainage of moisture and created saltpetre. Accompanied by a specialist technical supervisor, you will first have to remove the plaster from the walls, then dehumidify the walls, and finish by plastering them with lime. Other traditional masonry work will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with these techniques. Come with work clothes or clothes that may be damaged or soiled. We will provide you with safety equipment. No qualifications are required for this project. You will work 4 to 5 hours a day.

Buxerolles (86180) is located in the Greater Poitiers conurbation, in the Vienne departement (86), 6 km from Poitiers.
At the crossroads of several charming little villages in the Vienne, you'll be able to take full advantage of the local heritage. When you're not working on the site, you'll be taking part in summer activities such as July 14th. Outings to Poitiers or Chatellerault and activities such as the Futuroscope, bowling or cinema, can also be organised.

You will sleep on mattresses at the Espace Marcel Varliette, where all facilities are available (toilets, kitchens, showers, common room, etc.). The church is located in the same place as the accommodation. You must bring your own duvet and pillow, and we'll provide inflatable mattresses. Meals, especially lunch and dinner, will be prepared by participants on a rotating basis, ensuring respect for environmental values, local resources, and everyone's cultural preferences. Both hot and cold dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, will be included.

Not far from Poitiers, between the sky and the earth, in this commune called Buxerolles, an ancient church first mentioned in 1226, the Saint-Jacques-et-Saint-Philippe de Buxerolles church dates back to the Romanesque period. A first chapel, completely destroyed when the building was rebuilt in 1868, dates back to the 11th century. After several years, the building is in need of a facelift, and the project will involve refurbishing the church as well as intercultural sharing between locals and peace-building volunteers.

Matour, a dynamic village in Saone-et-Loire, welcomes you to an international volunteer work camp. Together, we will restore two of the seven washhouses in the commune, treasures of its heritage.
Led by the Concordia association and the municipality, this project aims to preserve local history while fostering intercultural exchanges. Residents and volunteers from around the world will work together to bring these emblematic sites back to life.
The work will focus on renovating the roofs, with possible interventions on the framework. Conducted on scaffolding, the project will be supervised by an experienced technical leader, ensuring safety and adherence to traditional construction methods. Work will take place in the mornings, for 5 to 6 hours per day, to avoid the heat.
But a work camp is also a human adventure ! Afternoons will be dedicated to activities, relaxation, or group-chosen events. Weekends will be an opportunity to explore the region and its rich heritage.

The facilitators will organize tailored activities in close collaboration with the group, allowing you to take an active role in your stay and fully enjoy the cultural and heritage riches of the area.

You will be accommodated in individual tents at the municipal stadium in Matour. The tents will be provided by Concordia, but you should bring a sleeping pad or mattress and a sleeping bag rated for 10?C comfort to ensure a pleasant night's sleep. The stadium facilities, including showers, toilets, and changing rooms, will be available to you.
A small enclosed and covered space will serve as a communal area for meal preparation, dining, and organizing activities if needed.
You will take part in organizing collective life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and preparing meals on a rotating basis, using locally sourced ingredients. Whenever possible, we will prioritize a vegetarian diet with seasonal local products, while respecting all dietary needs and promoting the discovery of local cuisine.
There is no Wi-Fi connection or laundry service on-site. We recommend making arrangements beforehand. However, it will be possible to do small hand washes if necessary.
Requisiti e materiali
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Help us to create pallet outdoor furniture for the commune of Les Mureaux, creating a cheerful, welcoming environment for local residents!
The city of Les Mureaux has a number of social and youth structures that are essential for social action at family level, and for the city's cultural activities. The aim of the project will be to create an outdoor living room using recycled wooden street furniture, so that it can once again become a welcoming and convivial space for the community, and in particular for the neighborhood's young people! Workshops will be organised to raise awareness of sustainable development, as well as workshops with children and many community visits.

Les Mureaux is a suburban town with a population of 32,000 in the northern Yvelines region, just under an hour from Paris. Civic activities include a visit to the Musee de l'Immigration in Paris, a meeting with the NGO Terre d'Asile, Refugee Food, the Chateau de Versailles and the Amarres third place center. Social events in Les Mureaux and Paris are planned throughout the workcamp.

You will be accommodated in a hard-standing building (gymnasium, school or social center) with hard-standing toilets and showers. Lunches and dinners will be cooked collectively, i.e. you will take it in turns to cook for all the volunteers. Weekday lunches will be taken in the canteen. A budget will be allocated to the leaders for the shopping in which you will participate, giving priority to healthy and local products, and vegetarian products. Wifi will not be available at the mission site and at the accommodation site. There is no washing machine but laundries are accessible in town if needed, 4?.

I partecipanti, accompagnati dai camp leaders, trascorreranno dieci giorni sulle rive del Lago di Como, dedicandosi ad attività di pulizia delle spiagge di Oliveto Lario. Il progetto, promosso da Legambiente, mira anche a sensibilizzare i bagnanti, spesso legati a un turismo mordi e fuggi, sull'importanza di tutelare l'ambiente. L’iniziativa punta inoltre a coinvolgere la comunità locale, composta da residenti che vivono nella zona tutto l’anno e hanno il diritto di abitare in un luogo pulito e ben preservato.
Si sperimenterà una vita comunitaria svolta nel modo più sostenibile possibile: mangiando prevalentemente vegatariano!

Scopo dei volontari sarà quello di raccogliere i rifiuti dalle spiagge di Oliveto Lario. Durante il campo, poi, i volontari saranno occupati ad aiutare il circolo locale di Lecco nella divulgazione di materiale informativo. I volontari lavoreranno per circa 5 ore al giorno con un giorno libero nel corso della durata del progetto.

Il comune di Oliveto Lario si affaccia direttamente sul Lago di Como, offrendo una vista panoramica sui profili delle montagne circostanti. È il luogo ideale sia per intraprendere passeggiate in montagna sia per concedersi momenti di relax sulle rive del lago.

I partecipanti saranno alloggiati in strutture messe a disposizione dal Comune di Oliveto Lario.

Non soffrire di mal di mare, saper nuotare, buona attitudine a camminare, conoscere l'inglese livello base per poter comunicare con turisti stranieri, saper essere aperti al dialogo, avere voglia di lanciarsi in un'attività di gruppo pratica e divertente.

Organized by the Yamato Traditional Fishing Weir Preservation Association, the first-class river Enogawa, also known as "Chugoku Taro," flows through the Tsuga area of Misato. This is the only area along the "Gono River" where the fishing method known as "Yana fishing" is still practiced. The co-organizing organizations are dedicated to preserving this fishing method for future generations, which led to the establishment of the new preservation association in 2020.
"Yana fishing" is a traditional fishing method in Japan, where a fish trap called "yana" is set up in a river to catch fish. The yana is a type of fish weir or net placed in the river's flow, and fish are captured as they swim into it. This fishing technique is still practiced in some regions of Japan.
You can learn about the ecology of sweet fish (ayu) and rivers while also being involved in rural tourism development and regional revitalization.

Remember – Connect – Understand – Shape the Future is our guiding slogan since 1987. We will learn about the history of the concentration camp Dachau and other aspects of National Socialism in Germany. We will always ask: What did we learn? How do we remember today? Where do we still find racism, antisemitism, and discrimination? The program consists of different workshops, trips, movies, eyewitness talks, guided tours through the Memorial Site, tours in Dachau and Munich. There is also time for personal conversation, playing music or games.
We invite participants to contribute to the programme: You can send us your ideas for our show at the public IYM festival in the middle of IYM Dachau (dancing, singing, theatre…) Feel free to contact project management in advance.

There will be free time for fun and games, entertainment, getting to know the people, etc. However, please note that there is no time for self-organized trips during IYM Dachau.

Accommodation is provided at the Max Mannheimer House in rooms for four people. The participation fee includes full board, lodging and program costs. The hostel will supply bed linen; sleeping bags are not allowed.

Since 1983, the International Youth Meeting Dachau has been a place for young people from all over the world to discuss issues concerning the past, the present and the future. They take a look at the history of the former Dachau concentration camp, National Socialism and present forms of exclusion, racism and discrimination. The principles of exchanging ideas, experiencing different cultural backgrounds, as well as Holocaust education are the core ideas of the International Youth Meeting. It is primarily organized by a team of international volunteers. Survivors of the National Socialist regime and their descendants share the experiences and personal consequences of persecution.
In March 1933, one of the first Nazi concentration camps was established in the town of Dachau, near Munich. The Dachau concentration camp soon became a model for other concentration camps and also a place where SS Men were trained. Until 1945, over 206,000 people from different countries were imprisoned in Dachau. About 41,500 prisoners died from terror and the consequences of inhuman practices, diseases, exhaustion and hunger. In 1965, due to the initiative of some survivors, the memorial site was established. And in 1983, the first IYM Dachau organized by young people of the region, took place.

It is planned to redesign and construct a Dirtbike-Track with the help of international volunteers. The currently existing Dirtbike track was also a project involving local teenagers who participated in the construction of the track. In the last few years, the track has been worn out and now it needs to be repaired. The idea is not just to rebuild the old track, but to redesign and build something new. In this case your task would be to help us with the necessary preparatory work and to start working on the redesign of the track. This means physical labour and cooperation with workers, who are specialized in such projects.
Local teenagers and young adults will work together with you. The lead of the work will be taken by some “professional” mountain bikers who know what a good dirt bike track should look like.
Besides this practical work, volunteers will get to know the concept of youth work in Kelkheim and the integration of residents with diverse social backgrounds. A common project to shape the city can bring together different people with the same interests. In this case you will also get to know the local people and how they live in Kelkheim.

Volunteers will get free access to the local swimming pool and will visit the nearby castle of Königstein. There will be a guided tour of Kelkheim and some interesting information about the development of the first democratic institutions in Germany. Heinrich von Gagern, the most famous son of Kelkheim, was the first president of the first German national parliament in 1848. Therefore, you will also visit the historic parliament in Frankfurt itself, which is now called the “Frankfurt Paulskirche”. As there will be contact with German native speakers, the workcamp is a good opportunity to improve your German language skills.

Volunteers will stay in the central youth club of Kelkheim. You can use the kitchen, a pool table, a table football, a small gym for you to do some strength training and more. You will have plenty of space to make yourself at home, cook, play, do sports or watch a movie together. As already mentioned, the youth club is located in the center of Kelkheim, so you will have plenty of shopping opportunities and restaurants nearby. The central train station is only a five-to-ten-minute walk away.

The city of Kelkheim (Taunus) is a small city consisting of five small villages surrounding the city center. The city stretches from the plain of the Main River to the edge of the Taunus Mountains. The landscape varies between hilly agricultural land in the south and wooded mountains in the north. Kelkheim is part of the Rhine-Main region, with major cities such as Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Mainz nearby.
Youth work in Kelkheim is very active as local youth work in youth centres and as mobile ‘street work’. Local youth work is running three youth clubs in the center of Kelkheim and in the districts of Fischbach and Ruppertshain. The mobile youth workers are more like street workers. They approach young people on the street and try to find out where they spend their free time and what they want and need in the city. In this context, we know that many young and older people in Kelkheim like to ride bikes, especially mountain biking. So, in cooperation with the mobile youth work a flow trail in the forest of Kelkheim was built in cooperation with local teenagers.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha (since 2015 here), a cooperative community where about people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who wants to learn farming, just want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Tokyo, Nagano and Hokkaido and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way with utilizing bacterium and charcoal. Tateya Farm has 40 members and NICE started LMTV projects here since 2014. NICE also organizes workcamps and LMTV projects in Maki and Shintoku farms of Kyodo Gakusha.
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, 1 mid term volunteer for 2 months greatly contributed to harvest rice which was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! There was also nice exchange between Community people and vols. through Yoga and Mindfulness. Tateya Farm has 40 members and NICE started LMTV projects here since 2014. NICE also organizes workcamps and LMTV projects in Maki and Shintoku farms of Kyodo Gakusha.
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, 1 mid term volunteer for 2 months greatly contributed to harvest rice which was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! There was also nice exchange between Community people and vols. through Yoga and Mindfulness. Many songs and poems have been written and a lot of films were made about friends. Science is also investigating the phenomenon of ‘friendship’: BCYIQNCPLG - these are the basic building blocks of the hormone oxytocin, which our body releases when we feel a sense of friendship and security. But can friendship be reduced to such a simple formula? What is behind this feeling? How many friends do we actually need? Is friendship good for your health?
You will become friendship researchers and share stories of trust, comfort, longing and perhaps also betrayal. Together you will work on small scenes using role play, character work, interaction and improvisation. Your own creative ideas and the results of your research will be turned into a play under the guidance of a theatre teacher, which will then be performed in front of an audience.

The "Weltbühne" (world stage) in Heckenbeck, a small place with only 450 inhabitants, is a cultural centre with a large theatre space in a former village inn. Every year, the local population look forward to an international theatre project and will happily host the international group of this workcamp for 2 weeks. In the historic town of Linz am Rhein, with its many colorful old town houses, your help is needed. You will help with various gardening and maintenance tasks in the city, e.g. in the park, the historic cemetery and other green spaces in Linz. The municipality of Linz is organizing an international work camp for the 4th time and this camp is also very much about international exchange within the group. The city will also offer a number of activities so that you can get to know the city and the surrounding area. The workcamp groups who spent their summers here in 2019, 2022, 2024 felt very comfortable and enjoyed all the offers from the municipality.

Linz is beautifully situated along the Rhine River and you have numerous excursion options in the surrounding area. You will be given a guided tour of the beautiful old town of Linz, which has several cafés and restaurants. There is also a lovely outdoor pool. The city forest is a habitat for many (rare) plant and animal species and a recreational area for people who jog, bike, hike or simply enjoy nature there. Due to climate change, many plants and animals are now endangered and the task of the forestry team is to protect the forest and preserve the flora and fauna for the future. You will support the forest rangers in a variety of activities in the areas of nature conservation, forest maintenance and the preservation of recreational areas for forest visitors. These tasks include the removal of non-native plants, the care of young trees and the clearing of watercourses and forest paths. You will also gain an insight into the diverse tasks of a forest ranger's office and the forest ecosystem.

Wolfsburg's internationally renowned sights include the castle and the art museum, as well as the ‘Phaeno’ science museum. The mayor of the Wolfsburg city centre district arranges free admission and guided tours of these institutions and the planetarium for the group :-) These activities will take place at the weekend (Fri 1 - Sun 3 August). You can also chill out in the Allerpark with swimming lake and sandy beach and a high ropes course or in the VW pool.

Your host community Germersheim is looking forward to your help with renovation tasks in the fortress museum. The fortress is present everywhere in Germersheim. The numerous historic buildings are listed and are used in a variety of ways: as a museum, university, music school and youth center. The Ludwigstor, as one of the preserved city gates, will be “your fortress building”, which is used as a museum but is closed due to necessary renovation and restoration work. With your help, it will be reopened in 2026. To this end, we are organizing two work camps with the city of Germersheim this year. In this summer camp, your help is needed to renovate the exhibition rooms. The rooms are to be restored to their original “historical” state as far as possible and everything that deviates from the construction period is to be removed. Specifically: historical windows must be thoroughly refurbished, plywood panels that keep out daylight must be carefully removed, the window timbers must be sanded and revitalized with oily paints. Some of the historic wooden floors have PVC coverings, which should be carefully removed without damaging the substrate, e.g. with a spatula or special tools. Door frames that do not correspond to the construction period, i.e. were added later, must be carefully removed, as must wall areas that close off former passageways. The aim is to recreate the historical room shape with vaulted ceilings and natural lighting. In order to restore the rooms to their original size, some of the masonry walls even have to be removed. The various demolition materials have to be transported through the building for disposal and sorted, and possibly also stored for reuse.
As you can see, you can really let off steam here, but it's also strenuous work that requires a bit of strength! Turn up the music and off you go. If you want to really let off steam in an old fortress, this is the place for you. Another aspect is that you should document your work digitally, e.g. with a video diary of your work or a photo documentation that not only shows you at work, but also the spatial changes before and after your work assignment.

You have lots of leisure options: you can be in Speyer in 12 minutes by S-Bahn, with a beautiful historic old town, the cathedral, technology museum, Sea Life, Bademaxx (leisure pool), cafés and bars. The university cities of Heidelberg and Karlsruhe are also very easy to reach by train. You can also travel to France, e.g. to Strasbourg. If you like hiking, you can do so in the Palatinate Forest with its many castles and huts to stop off at. To discover Germersheim, you can take a guided tour of the town. You can take an electric boat trip (night trip) or a canoe trip on the Rhine. An absolute highlight for the region is the almond blossom, which will be in full bloom during your workcamp. Very beautiful for nature lovers and great photo opportunities www.mandelbluete-pfalz.de.

The municipality of Hohe Börde, with 14 different districts, is located in a rural region 15 kilometres from Magdeburg. The work camp is designed to give young people the opportunity to make new international friends. You are a group of 15 international young people and 15 young people from the municipality of Hohe Börde. The first task after getting to know each other is to put up the circus tent, set up seating and prepare the site. Ideas for the programme are then collected and the next tasks are discussed. This includes rehearsing simple circus tricks, making costumes and requisites and designing the tent. You can give free rein to your creativity and artistic design! In the second week, rehearsals of the entire programme with costumes will take place. And then it's ‘Let the show begin!’. The camp ends with your circus performance in front of an audience and a joint international party.

You can barbecue on the outdoor area and there is a football pitch. Footballs, volleyballs, badminton and other items for leisure activities are provided. The supermarket is just around the corner and the Eichenbarleben castle park is just a few minutes' walk away. The surrounding area with its many fields, farms and nature is easy to explore on foot or by bike. Outdoor pool in Niederndodeleben, shopping centre with shopping facilities and restaurants in Hermsdorf. The nearest railway station is Ochtmersleben (4 km away). From there, you can reach Magdeburg in 16 minutes. At the weekend, it's worth taking a trip to Braunschweig or Hannover.

The accommodation is on the grounds of the kindergarten in Eichenbarleben and has a separate entrance. You will have a large, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and the assembly hall as a common room. Shared dormitory in the sports hall. You will sleep on air beds. The two-week international encounter project on the site of the former Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp has the motto ‘Making visible’ and is thus actively involved in the design of the site of today's memorial.
The work during the summer camp will consist of excavation work and the visualisation of a barrack foundation in the infirmary of the former prison camp. The work will take place outdoors, in a wooded area, and large and heavy stones will have to be cut. These stones are turned into flat Outline walls set. The work is part of a larger project: the remains of the foundations on the sites of former barracks are to be gradually made visible again so that visitors to the memorial site can recognise the camp structure, which barely exists any more. This year, work will continue on a foundation that has already been started.
The education and communication part of the project will focus on the history of the Nazi concentration camps and the use of concentration camp prisoners in the underground relocation of the armaments industry - using the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp as an example. Due to the location of the project, the focus will be on the so-called prisoner infirmary. The topic of medicine under National Socialism will therefore also be covered. This topic will be approached through tours, working with various sources, exchanging ideas with each other and joint digitally supported project work.
The ‘Dora labour camp’ was founded at the end of August 1943 as a satellite camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. As part of the underground relocation of German armaments production in the last two years of the Second World War, concentration camp prisoners had to develop a tunnel system in the Kohnstein mountain near Nordhausen into an underground rocket factory. Series production of the rocket propagated by the Nazi state as ‘Retaliation Weapon 2’ began in January 1944. During the first few months, the prisoners had to live and work in the tunnels. It was not until spring 1944 that an above-ground barracks camp was built and the Dora satellite camp became the Mittelbau concentration camp in its own right. More than 60,000 people from almost every country in Europe, mainly from the Soviet Union, Poland and France, had to perform forced labour for the German armaments industry in the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp complex between 1943 and 1945. One in three of them died.

Around 40,000 people live in Nordhausen. The town has a large hospital, a theatre, a cinema, several museums, a university and a tram. Excursions into the surrounding area are possible, as bicycles are provided. Nordhausen is located south of the Harz Mountains. A tourist highlight is the Harz narrow-gauge railway (Harzer Schmalspurbahnen | Home | Home). This is a historic train with a steam locomotive that travels up the highest mountain in the Harz Mountains, the Brocken, every day. Hikes or excursions into the countryside are very easy. There are open-air swimming pools and lakes on the outskirts of the city. Cities such as Leipzig, Göttingen and Weimar are easily accessible by train. Excursions to the Buchenwald Memorial and the Forced Labour Museum in Weimar are planned.

- You should know how to ride a bicycle, as you will need to travel by bike from the accommodation to Mittelbau-Dora.
Interest in the history of National Socialism, good English language skills. Safe cycling in road traffic is a prerequisite! A desire for physically demanding work, weatherproof clothing, as the work also takes place outdoors. Mosquito repellent and sun protection are also advisable. Sturdy shoes that can withstand water or are suitable for hiking are a good idea.
The Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp memorial is an international place of remembrance and learning. In summer, the memorial is visited by many tourists from countries such as the Netherlands, France and Denmark. Relatives of former prisoners are also regular guests. The equipment in the seminar rooms is modern and iPads are provided for digital project work during the camp.

Dal 2017 Legambiente e Diversamente Marinai sono impegnati nella campagna “Vele Spiegate”. In questo contesto Diversamente Marinai propone campi di volontariato in barca a vela di una settimana nell'Arcipelago Toscano. Il progetto prevede la pulizia delle spiagge poco accessibili via terra, il monitoraggio dei rifiuti, il monitoraggio e il controllo delle tracce delle tartarughe marine Caretta Caretta, inoltre andremo alla scoperta dei sentieri che incontreremo nelle insenature dove ci fermeremo e mapperemo quelli che non sono presenti sulle carte. Il progetto mira alla conoscenza del mare attraverso la navigazione e alla creazione di team affiatati e motivati. Per questo i partecipanti impareranno la marineria antica e a farsi equipaggio a bordo di un ketch a vela del 1922. Inoltre, saranno formati sulle principali linee guida in termini di sostenibilità ambientale della fruizione del mare. Non ci può essere vera salvaguardia dell’ambiente senza saper apprezzare il paesaggio naturale. Il campo di lavoro vuole realizzare interventi concreti per migliorare la qualità ambientale mostrando all'equipaggio come vivere sul mare e con il mare sia un’esperienza indimenticabile. Le attività del campo sono arricchite dalla pratica quotidiana della riduzione degli sprechi che la vita di bordo comporta e dalla possibilità di spostarsi utilizzando prevalentemente il vento. Vele Spiegate è un progetto inserito nella Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenibile del Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano per il periodo 2021-2025. Didattica della vela e la vita di bordo: l’attività prevede un corso di primo livello di navigazione a vela e conduzione di un’imbarcazione storica, attraverso la sperimentazione diretta delle nozioni acquisite.
Pulizia e monitoraggio delle spiagge accessibili solo dal mare: il progetto prevede la pulizia di alcune spiagge difficilmente accessibili via terra, attraverso la rimozione dei rifiuti. In tale occasione saranno anche monitorati i rifiuti attraverso la tecnica del Beach litter riportando dati e riflessioni su appositi moduli, fornendo dati che saranno utilizzati per scopi scientifici.
Ricerca e monitoraggio delle tracce della tartaruga Caretta caretta: i partecipanti impareranno a riconoscere le tracce della tartaruga e saranno impegnati anche nella ricerca delle stesse e nella sensibilizzazione di cittadini e turisti.
Mappatura sentieri: verrà monitorato lo stato dei sentieri che collegano le principali vie sentieristiche dell’isola alle spiagge e insenature, raggiungibili prevalentemente a piedi, e presso le quali faremo sosta con la nostra imbarcazione; e eventuale pulizia o segnalazione delle criticità riscontrate

L'Arcipelago toscano è formato da un gruppo di sette isole maggiori, di cui la più grande è l'isola d'Elba, più alcune minori, secche e scogli situati tra la terraferma toscana e la Corsica. L'arcipelago è bagnato da quattro mari: il mar Ligure a nord dell'isola d'Elba, il canale di Piombino a est, il mar Tirreno a sud e il canale di Corsica a ovest delle coste elbane. Il canale di Corsica e il canale di Piombino possono essere considerati come canali naturali di collegamento tra il mar Ligure e il mar Tirreno, rispettivamente a ovest e ad est dell'isola d'Elba.

I partecipanti alloggeranno su un ketch a vela in legno del 1922 di 16,5 metri. I pasti verranno preparati in barca e si seguirà un'alimentazione prevalentemente vegetariana.

Swimtrekking significa letteralmente trekking a nuoto: è un modo originale per vivere e sentire l’ambiente, un viaggio in mare con maschera, boccaglio, pinne, muta, portando con sé tutto il necessario per l’escursione in un piccolo scafo in vetroresina da trainare: il barkino. I campi Swimtrekking si pongono l’obiettivo di proporre un’attività in mare che, attraverso l’escursionismo e l’esplorazione, consenta ai partecipanti di maturare un’esperienza autentica di confronto sulle tematiche della tutela e della salvaguardia dell’ambiente marino, anche e soprattutto attraverso la conoscenza della flora e della fauna.
Attraverso la guida di istruttori qualificati, i volontari esploreranno e monitoreranno i fondali marini (dalla superfice del mare) e i tratti costieri contribuendo alla raccolta dati su noci di mare, meduse, delfini e tartarughe attraverso l’applicazione AVVISTAPP (sviluppata e gestita dall’OGS di Trieste). Inoltre, verranno recuperati i rifiuti in mare e lungo la costa che saranno poi utilizzati per la realizzazione di opere artistiche che saranno fotografate, smaltite e, ove possibile, differenziate. Si ricorda che tutti gli istruttori della ASD Swimtrekking hanno una formazione specifica per guidare e seguire le varie fasi di un campo Swimtrekking abbracciando le compe-tenze tecniche della disciplina, conoscenze di biologia marina e di recupero e riciclaggio artistico dei rifiuti.
Lavoro
Le volontarie e i volontari recupereranno i rifiuti dal mare durante le nuotate lungo costa e li trasporteranno a riva.
Al termine delle attività in acqua si progetteranno e realizzeranno delle opere artistiche, utilizzando solo i materiali recuperati dal mare e dalle coste. I rifiuti saranno assemblati dando sfogo alla fantasia per produrre nuove forme che raccontano l’esperienza vissuta in mare. Il lavoro artistico verrà poi documentato attraverso foto e video.
Al termine dell’attività, le opere verranno smaltite seguendo le normative locali di raccolta differenziata. I volontari svolgeranno inoltre le attività di Marine and Beach Litter indagine sulla quantità e tipologia di rifiuti raccolti in mare e sulle spiagge raggiunte durante le escursioni, al fine di contribuire alla Direttiva Europea sulla Marine Strategy.
A fine campo sarà realizzato un video con tutti i contenuti delle attività svolte e consegnato ai partecipanti (munirsi di penna USB).
Altro aspetto fondamentale del campo sarà il censimento di specie marine e delle meduse. L’OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale proseguirà la collaborazione con Swimtrekking in un progetto Citizen Science estendendo per il 2025 la raccolta di informazioni su ogni avvistamento di meduse, tartarughe di mare, noci di mare e delfini.

Punta Ala è una località costiera situata in Toscana, nel comune di Castiglione della Pescaia, nella provincia di Grosseto. È caratterizzata da un territorio collinare che si affaccia su una spiaggia sabbiosa e ben curata. La località è circondata da una vegetazione tipicamente mediterranea, con pinete e macchia mediterranea che conferiscono un'atmosfera naturale e incontaminata. La zona è anche vicina a importanti aree protette come il Parco Naturale della Maremma, che offre un habitat ricco di biodiversità. Il paesaggio di Punta Ala è davvero suggestivo. Le acque cristalline del mare sono perfette per attività come nuoto, snorkeling e vela. La spiaggia è ben attrezzata e offre numerosi servizi per i turisti. L'area circostante è ideale per escursioni a piedi o in bicicletta, grazie ai sentieri che si snodano tra le colline e le pinete. Inoltre, la fauna locale include diverse specie di uccelli e animali marini, rendendola un luogo affascinante per gli amanti della natura. Punta Ala ha una storia ricca e affascinante. Originariamente, l'area era abitata dagli Etruschi, seguiti dai Romani, che sfruttarono la posizione strategica del territorio. Nel corso dei secoli, Punta Ala ha visto l'insediamento di diverse popolazioni e la costruzione di fortificazioni per difendersi dalle invasioni piratesche nel Medioevo. Un importante punto di riferimento storico è il Castello di Punta Ala, costruito nel XVI secolo per proteggere la costa.
Nel XIX secolo, Punta Ala divenne una meta ambita per nobili e aristocratici, contribuendo alla sua fama come località turistica esclusiva. Oggi, Punta Ala è conosciuta non solo per le sue bellezze naturali ma anche per le sue strutture turistiche di alta qualità.
Attività formative
I volontari, adeguatamente informati in merito a flora e fauna marina avranno il compito di censire, catalogare e studiare i comportamenti delle meduse, noci di mare, tartarughe e delfini incontrate durante le attività di esplorazione lungo costa. I volontari seguiranno inoltre le direttive tema dei progetti Marine and Beach Litter per la conservazione dell'ambiente naturalistico
Alloggio
Il Punta Ala Camp & Resort si estende all’interno di una pineta mediterranea. Il campeggio è una struttura turistica all’aria aperta che adesso occupa ben ventisette ettari ed è un vero e proprio “parco vacanze” dalle polivalenti opportunità di servizi e ospitalità particolarmente attenta e sensibile al tema dell’eco-turismo e alla tematica ambientale. Il Campeggio Punta Ala opera per ricreare un “natural lifestyle”, approccio riconosciuto e premiato da organizzazioni ambientali nazionali e internazionali.
I volontari sistemeranno le tende, fornite dalla ASD Swimtrekking, in un’area a loro riservata attrezzata con cucina da campo, le docce ed i servizi igienici in condivisione con gli altri campeggiatori.
I volontari dovranno munirsi di sacco a pelo, materassi-no ed eventualmente cuscino.
Per quanto riguarda i pasti, la prima colazione e la cena saranno organizzate sempre nell’area riservata del campeggio (vicino alle tende). I responsabili del campo e i/le partecipanti organizzeranno i pasti su base self-catering. Per il pranzo sarà preparato un pasto al sacco che verrà riposto nei barkini e trasportato durante l’attività in mare fino alla località prevista per la pausa pranzo.
Requisiti e materiali
L’attività dello Swimtrekking migliora la propria tecnica individuale nel nuoto, sviluppa l’autocontrollo e la conoscenza di sé e di una serie di tecniche quali l’apnea e il salvamento, studia la flora e la fauna, il moto ondoso, i venti e le correnti, rafforza e accresce le dinamiche del gruppo.
Sarà quindi fondamentale che tutti i volontari sappiano nuotare i due stili principali: lo stile libero e lo stile dorso. Specifichiamo inoltre che non sono assolutamente importanti i tempi di percorrenza e la tecnica indi-viduale ma una certa abitudine all’attività fisica. Si richiede quindi una certa consuetudine con l’attività spor-tiva di qualsiasi genere sia pur blanda. Le persone molto sedentarie non sono adatte a questo tipo di espe-rienza. Chiunque può quindi affrontare in maniera positiva l’esperienza di un campo Swimtrekking se interessato a sperimentare le conoscenze da noi proposte.

La ASD Swimtrekking è un’associazione sportiva dilettantistica affiliata alla UISP che da 30 anni organizza il trekking a nuoto in varie località del Mar Mediterraneo e del mondo.
L’attività dello Swimtrekking nasce con l’intento di esplorare e monitorare l’ambiente marino e si sostanzia nella realizzazione di corsi e stage, sia in piscina che in mare, le cui tematiche spaziano dalla tecnica dello Swimtrekking e dell’allenamento agli aspetti teorici e pratici della sicurezza in mare, della conoscenza della flora e della fauna, della tutela e salvaguardia dell'habitat marino, dello studio e della conoscenza dei venti, delle correnti e delle condizioni meteo-marine esclusivamente in funzione dell’attività stessa che porta. LOCATION: YMCA Fairthorne encourage all volunteers to take the chance to get out and explore the UK. YMCA Fairthorne is situated just outside of Southampton and less than two hours from London with a local train station. Generally, our volunteers will receive 2 days off in every 7 so its easy to access many parts of the UK. Situated in a 94-acre land in Botley, it truly is a stunning landscape where volunteers can enjoy the nature. It is not too far away from Southampton which is one of the biggest Cities on the South Coast where volunteers can explore and enjoy the following:
• Visit the Solent Sky Museum
• The theatre
• Southampton Football Club - Go to a game!
• Visit the Tudor houses
• Travel to Stonehenge

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD: Accommodation is in tents with bedding provided. Food is ‘Canteen style’ with a limited choice but with a vegetarian option. Three meals a day are provided, which includes a cooked breakfast and / or cereals, lunch and a cooked evening meal. Meals are at set times.
IMPORTANT: – Even in the British Summertime it can be VERY COLD AT NIGHT – please ensure you bring enough warm clothes. Wet weather clothing and footwear is also strongly recommended, as the site can get muddy and even the summer can bring a rainy day.

The application fee for this VISA is £298 and you can stay for up to 12 months. After that, it had serious damages from a flood. Their aim is to activate the community and sustain the program with young people from the world to conserve this rich nature and revival in this area!
